In addition, Gashau Ayale, who won the silver medal last year, reached the podium again, claiming the bronze medal with a time of 2:19:21. Amanal Petros took the individual gold medal, setting a competition record of 2:09:11, while Pietro Riva finished second with 2:09:18.
