From 0 to 100: How to become a Hollywood star and turn down a million-dollar contract

Indy Navarta, star of the horror film "Obsession", has quickly become one of the most sought-after young actresses in Hollywood. Just a few months ago she was relatively unknown, and now she is turning down supporting roles and offers for roles with multi-million dollar salaries. Following the success of the film, which is considered one of the most profitable ever at the box office, she may even be in the running for an Oscar nomination.

Before "Obsession" was released and broke records, 25-year-old Navarta was known mainly to fans of the television series "Superman & Lois" and "13 Reasons Why" on Netflix, in which she played regular roles. Today, "she is on everyone's shortlist," an industry producer told Page Six.

The film was just the beginning — and her next project is already on the horizon: Navarta is expected to star in the next "X-Men" film from Marvel, alongside Adam Driver and Sadie Sink, which is expected to begin filming soon. As reported, Navarta turned down a role that would have earned her $2.5 million in a horror project directed by Matthias Hoene. "Obsession", which was produced on a budget of $750,000, grossed nearly $500 million worldwide.

The actress is also being tipped as a possible Oscar contender for her role, for which she reportedly received only about $20,000.

"I really want to prove that 'Obsession' wasn't just a one-time success. It's something I really love and want to keep doing, but of course it will take time. I want people to take that time to believe that I have that ability. I also want to fall on my face publicly and do something that people won't like, [but] maybe I will," she told Nylon.
