A widespread storm has erupted in the healthcare system following harsh racist remarks by Dr. Dov Laxman, a senior physician and surgeon at the Assuta network and the Aya Medical clinic. In posts published on Facebook, the doctor harshly attacked Likud voters of Mizrahi origin, using severe derogatory terms, offensive generalizations, and particularly blunt statements toward the Moroccan community in Israel.

The physician repeated these offensive remarks on several occasions, labeling voters with demeaning terms such as "feeble-minded," "violent," and "brain-depleted." These words sparked significant public anger, as they were made by a senior medical professional who interacts daily with patients and staff from all segments of the population.

Critics emphasized that this is not a one-time slip of the tongue, but a recurring pattern of racist rhetoric that has no place in public discourse, especially among medical professionals. Following the reports and the resulting public outcry, tough questions were directed to the management of the Assuta network regarding the disciplinary measures it intends to take and the doctor's continued employment.

In an official response, the Assuta network stated that the organization is not politically affiliated and is dedicated to providing medical care to every person without distinction. The network clarified that it strongly rejects the published statements and that they do not represent the medical institution in any way. Assuta further noted that the doctor has been summoned for a meeting with the hospital director.
