Deadline Approaching: Land Purchase Benefits for Reservists in Mitzpe Ramon

The Mitzpe Ramon Local Council is calling on reservists to take advantage of the window of opportunity that will close on August 31 and register for the Israel Land Authority lottery to purchase plots for self-construction in the new "Maof" neighborhood. As part of the tender, 46 out of 51 plots will be allocated to combat reservists, alongside significant discounts on the price of the land and additional benefits for those eligible.

The Israel Land Authority tender, which will close at the end of the month, includes 51 plots for self-construction. Of these, 23 plots are intended for combat reservists who are residents of Mitzpe Ramon, another 23 for combat reservists from across the country, and five plots will be allocated to people with disabilities.

Beyond the priority in the lottery, the tender offers discounts of tens of thousands of shekels on the land price for combat reservists, alongside additional benefits for those without housing and for couples where both spouses serve in the reserves. In addition, it has been determined that the property cannot be sold for five years from the date of completion of construction, with the aim of encouraging the establishment of a stable community in the area.

The "Maof" neighborhood is the flagship project of Mitzpe Ramon and will include in the future about 1,500 housing units, commercial areas of about 7,630 square meters, and more than 21,000 square meters of employment areas. The neighborhood will combine high-density construction of up to four floors alongside "build your own home" plots and low-rise housing.

The development of the neighborhood is part of a framework agreement signed last April between the Ministry of Construction and Housing and the local council, totaling about 800 million shekels. As part of the agreement, about 110 million shekels will also be invested in public and educational institutions, alongside infrastructure upgrades and long-term economic development.

The head of the Mitzpe Ramon council, Elia Winter, said:

"Mitzpe Ramon is at the most significant takeoff point in its history. We intend to reach about 10,000 residents by the year 2030, alongside the development of technological employment centers and the continued strengthening of the education system. I call on reservists, both locals and those from all over the country, to come and build their home here. Beyond an 18% income tax benefit, they will find here a strong community and exceptional quality of life."
