Behind Netanyahu and Likud's back: Hadar Muchtar eyes another party
The young politician, currently running in the Likud party primaries, continues her efforts to secure a seat in the next Knesset. It has emerged that alongside her activities within Likud, she has been exploring the possibility of joining another party.
The young politician Hadar Muchtar, who is currently running in the Likud party primaries, recently made headlines again following a letter submitted by 120 senior party members to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, in which they requested a reduction in her required seniority period.
However, it has come to the attention of Ice this Sunday that, in parallel to her campaign within Likud, she has been quietly exploring the possibility of joining another list — Otzma Yehudit, led by Itamar Ben Gvir. According to reports, these contacts were made in complete silence while Muchtar continued to position herself as a dedicated member of Likud, intending to compete for a spot on the party's sought-after list.
In the letter, the signatories detailed Muchtar's path within the ranks of Likud since the end of her military service and highlighted her field activities. Senior officials explained that the activist was responsible for the registration of over a thousand new members and managed an extensive advocacy campaign on social media ahead of the upcoming elections. Recently, assessments within Likud have suggested that Muchtar is unlikely to receive the desired seniority reduction, which could prevent her from running in the primaries.
It now appears that the young politician does not intend to let such hurdles stop her, and she has been working on alternative connections to ensure her place in the next Knesset.
As is known, a seniority reduction refers to shortening the requirement for candidates to be registered party members for a specific duration. This reduction is granted solely by the head of the movement, which in Muchtar's case is Benjamin Netanyahu.
