The World Cup is behind us, and Israeli legionnaires are starting to shift gears ahead of the 2026/27 season. Some are still in the midst of preparation matches, while others have already officially opened the season in their local leagues.

  • Daniel Peretz started in goal for Southampton in a friendly match against the German side Preußen Münster. The Israeli goalkeeper conceded a goal that left him no chance, but his team managed to get back into the game with a goal from Leo Sijnza, and in the 89th minute, Lewis Dobbin completed the turnaround to set a dramatic 1:2 score. Peretz and his teammates will open the season in two weeks in a match against Watford.

  • Roy Navi made his debut for Kryvbas and played the full 90 minutes, but his team was defeated 4:1 by Karpaty Lviv in the opening round of the Ukrainian league. Bar Lin was not included in the squad.

  • In Thailand, Yonatan Cohen scored the only goal in the 11th minute in Bangkok United's 0:1 victory over Chiangmai in a preparation match.

  • In South Korea, Abdallah Khalihal came on at the start of the second half in Gangwon's 3:0 loss to Bucheon in the 21st round. His team remained in third place in the table, while their opponent is ranked ninth.
