Journalist Dana Varon, a presenter on Channel 14, addressed on Sunday the controversial statements made by Yair Golan on the interview program 'Assenheim' on Channel 13. The chairman of the 'Democrats' party recently spoke with journalist Omri Assenheim about his controversial positions regarding the government and his desire to lead fundamental changes in Israeli society.

During the interview, Yair Golan was questioned about his calls for insubordination during the judicial reform period and claims that this move harmed national security and encouraged Hamas to carry out the October 7 massacre in the Gaza envelope communities.

'Whoever tells you that your call for alleged insubordination weakened us is part of the factors for what happened to us on October 7, for the awakening of our enemies, and for the fact that they caught us by surprise,' Omri Assenheim asked Golan. The chairman of the 'Democrats' party replied firmly: 'I will tell you that this is part of the political incitement, that is all. This is political incitement.'

Dana Varon took a sharp jab at Yair Golan following his statement: 'What a lack of awareness, my dear brother. You do not understand what political incitement is. It must be mentioned here in the studio that when they say "Democrats," you are saying Eisenkot. So you know, this is what you will get if you vote for Eisenkot: you will get Yair Golan, Mansour Abbas, you will get all this radicalization. Understand what is being discussed here.'

The Channel 14 presenter also expressed sharp criticism of competing media outlets: 'The other media channels are cooperating with this lie. They are blurring the public's eyes, and later they will say that we are mouthpieces.' She also addressed Golan's declaration that if he were part of the next government, he would work to close Channel 14, which he described as a 'propaganda channel.'

'100 years it will take you and you will not be as democratic as Channel 14. 100 years you will make attempts, but you come out more fascist and more dictator-like than many others with your approach. Here on this channel, we allow coverage for everyone, we listen, be surprised. You are the propaganda, you,' Varon concluded.
