Dana Grotsky on Her Health: "It Is Something That Is in My Thoughts"

The heat of the Israeli summer does not stop presenter and media personality Dana Grotsky. In a new campaign for the clothing brand 'Delta' with a "Mini Me" tea party concept, Grotsky broke records for sweetness and was photographed for the first time together with her two daughters, Gia and Nina. Wearing matching looks of soft and fashionable pajamas, the three of them were photographed next to fans and coolers that were running non-stop, and the family chemistry between them stole the show. On set, Grotsky shared with excitement that Gia is preparing to enter first grade soon.

During the shoot, which took place in the heat, the girls quickly found a temporary refuge. "She is inside with the air conditioner," shared daughter Nina about her sister. Grotsky herself admitted with a smile that the main incentive for the girls to stand in front of the cameras in the heavy heat required a little sweet bribery. "It's just terribly hot here, and the heat is taking its toll, so they were tempted with popsicles. I hope the production is on top of it," said Grotsky, while Nina for her part was already interested in the flavors and expressed enthusiasm for the shared experience.

When asked about the decision to expose her daughters in front of the cameras — a subject that many in the industry avoid for fear of the "evil eye" — Grotsky clarified that she does not let such thoughts manage her. "I don't believe in the evil eye, it doesn't speak to me. I really enjoy filming, exposing, uploading, and sharing, it's fun. And that's it, it feels very natural to me," she explained.

Alongside the moments of lightness and humor, Grotsky did not refrain from addressing seriously the medical processes she has been undergoing in recent years and the importance of early detection. "I am under constant surveillance: every six months an MRI, ultrasound, and mammogram. Of course. It is something that is in my thoughts. I try to prevent the disease," she shared. She added that she has already undergone one surgery and has scheduled an appointment for another surgery in November, while radiating optimism and composure: "There are so many things to deal with on a daily basis in the State of Israel and in life in general, so it doesn't really bother or occupy me. But I remember that it exists, it's here, and I am taking care of it. I am on top of it, aware of it, and not neglecting it in any way. What needs to happen will happen, everything is good."

Later in the conversation, Grotsky took the time to talk about the challenge familiar to every parent: managing the summer vacation alongside a career, including hosting "Good Evening with Guy Pines." Currently, the children are in summer camps, and at the end of August, a trip to friends in Cyprus is planned, but the real difficulty lies in the gap between the children's vacation days and the parents' work days. "If you can tell me 'Listen, Dana? Take a month off from work, don't work, be at home with the children on vacation' — I'll take it easily! I enjoy it, I have fun with them," she said. When asked for tips for exhausted parents, she admitted with a laugh that she might not be the classic example: "I prefer not to wake up in the morning to prepare sandwiches for kindergarten and school... They know that mom likes to sleep late when I can, and no one bothers me. They are good children."

When asked how they manage with the girls when she is in the studio in the evening and night hours, Grotsky's answer was simple: "They have a dad. It's a function that exists there, thank God, and he is an amazing father, so he is with them. There is no question, we are a team. When I work, he is with them, and vice versa."

Towards the end of the interview, when the girls had already returned to the air conditioning, Grotsky remained to deal with the heat on set in good spirits. "They are smart," she concluded with a laugh, and returned to continue the filming.
