Dado Bar Kalifa Appointed Commander of the Central Command

The IDF announced on Monday that Major General Dado Bar Kalifa will be appointed Commander of the Central Command, replacing Major General Avi Bluth next year. Defense Minister Israel Katz approved the recommendation of Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir for this appointment.

"The officer will begin his role in 2027, in accordance with the operational assessment," the statement said.

During a staffing discussion chaired by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, several other appointments were decided, including commanders for divisions, brigades, and naval flotillas. The full list of appointments, subject to Minister Katz's approval, is as follows:
