FIFA President Gianni Infantino is fighting for his political survival and is offering Morocco an unprecedented deal. According to a report in The Times, Infantino promised the country the right to host the final match of the 2030 World Cup, provided it declares public support for him. The 2030 World Cup is expected to take place in Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, alongside three matches to be held in South America. Morocco, considered one of Infantino's biggest supporters over the last decade, aspires to host the final at the new Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, which is expected to hold 115,000 seats and be the largest in the world. Infantino's promise comes at the expense of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, which was the leading candidate to host the final, while the president is also concerned about a lack of support from Saudi Arabia, which will host the tournament in 2034.

Criticism against Infantino is intensifying, as former Real Madrid and Barcelona star Luís Figo joined the calls for his immediate removal.
