"Fighter for a fighter": Peter Paltchik received a donation from a surprising source
Natan Levy donated ten thousand dollars to the initiative of the former Olympic medalist, who announced the sale of the gi he wore when he won in Paris to assist ZAKA volunteers.
A few weeks ago, Peter Paltchik announced that he was putting up for sale the judo gi he wore all the way to winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. The goal was to raise 50,000 dollars to assist ZAKA volunteers who are dealing with the mental consequences of their activities at the difficult scenes of October 7. "I am trading my armor to help fund them," he said at the time.
However, since then, the gi has not found a buyer. The one who decided to take up the gauntlet is Natan Levy, an MMA fighter from Las Vegas, who decided to pay 10,000 dollars out of his own pocket to push Paltchik's initiative. "Peter has already put on the table something that is irreplaceable - the gi with which he won an Olympic medal. If another push is needed for someone to take up the gauntlet, I am putting in 10,000 dollars. Now we need a person or an entity to join me and complete the amount," noted Levy.
"In Israel we know this - a fighter for a fighter - join me. And those who cannot purchase, should share," he wrote to his hundreds of thousands of followers. Levy is known for the responses and challenges he posts online against antisemitic fighters who threaten Israelis. Now, he is, as mentioned, performing another act of pro-Israel support.
