"It looks dramatic": The concern surrounding Daniel Peretz and his answer to the fans

Israel national team goalkeeper Daniel Peretz caused great concern among his English club's fans last Saturday, after being absent from the squad for the pre-season match held at the Silverlake Stadium. The concern among the fans deepened when the goalkeeper was spotted watching the proceedings from the sidelines while wearing a protective brace on his right hand.

Peretz's absence came just after positive days, in which he started and played 45 minutes in a 1:0 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig in a pre-season match held in Germany. His appearance with the brace raised questions regarding his medical condition and his future at the club, but the goalkeeper was quick to calm the spirits and clear the air.

"I feel good. I also played with this bandage in the previous game. It is something that has accompanied me for the last two months of last season. I can play and train as usual. It may look a bit dramatic, but it is done solely for protection purposes."

Peretz also took the opportunity to thank the crowd that came to support the club: "It was great to return to play with the guys and also to see the fans who came with us to the friendly match. It is definitely not taken for granted, so thank you very much to everyone who came. We made a great effort, it was not easy against a good team, but we did the job with a win and a clean sheet."

Ahead of the return to official matches at the home stadium "St. Mary's", the Israeli goalkeeper added a warm message to the fans: "It was great to see them again after the break, and I can't wait to meet them at home. We will need them with us this season. We will have a very good season, and to achieve all our goals we will need them to bring their full energy – just as we will bring ours. We will do it together."
