"Will help achieve the goals": Freddy Bourdillon signs with Hapoel Tel Aviv
The 35-year-old guard, who played last season for Ironi Ramat Gan and Bnei Herzliya, joins the Reds until the summer of 2027. Coach Dimitris Itoudis emphasized that Bourdillon's experience is crucial for the team's championship ambitions.
Hapoel Tel Aviv continues its active roster building ahead of next season. This morning, Thursday, the club officially announced the signing of guard Freddy Bourdillon to a one-year contract, running through the end of the 2026/27 season. Bourdillon becomes the 22nd player on Dimitris Itoudis' roster, with further signings expected this summer.
"I welcome Bourdillon to the family," said the Greek coach.
"The championship is very important to us, and we have set it as a central goal. The experience of Freddy, who has played for several teams in the country, will help us a lot. He has shooting ability and knowledge of the league, and we are happy that he is joining the team."
Bourdillon (35, 1.93 m) began the 2025/26 season with Maccabi Ramat Gan before moving to Bnei Herzliya. Across both teams, he recorded 15 appearances, averaging 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 44.0% from two-point range and 90.3% from the free-throw line. He began his professional career in France, playing for Antibes, Chalon, Etoile Charleville, and Rouen. In Israel, his career path has included stints with Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Eilat, Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Holon, Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, and Bnei Herzliya. He is a two-time national champion, a French Cup winner, and a Balkan League champion.
Following the signing, Bourdillon stated: "I am grateful, excited, and full of motivation to join Hapoel, one of the best teams in Europe. I can't wait to feel the atmosphere and play in front of the fans at the Drive-In. We will do everything we can to win all the titles and fight for the red color."
