Ajax is expected to make several additional squad reinforcements, as according to Dutch media, the club is interested in signing at least five new players ahead of the rest of the season. Mika Godts is known to be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain, and according to "Het Parool", "without Godts, Ajax has looked limited in two matches already. Against Shelbourne, Oliver Edvardsen was given a chance on the left wing, but failed to deliver the goods. Previously, Oscar Gloukh and Abdallah Ouazan also struggled in that position".

Godts is expected to bring Ajax about 55 million euros. "With this money, Ajax wants not only to bring in a replacement for Godts, but also to strengthen the right wing area in attack. Steven Berghuis and Maher Cariso do not leave a lasting impression there," the report noted.

It was further written that coach Mitchell wants players with the ability to play deep in both positions, and they must be able to win individual duels. Ajax is interested in adding two more wingers, but this is not the only task for sporting director Jordi Cruyff. "It is at least as important to sign a new defensive midfielder. For this position, Mitchell is looking for an intelligent player who can open up the game through passing or dribbling. Ideally, this player would also have leadership qualities," it was written.

The report noted that this is a problematic situation for Ajax, which has been looking for a new defensive midfielder for more than a year. The desire to sign a player for this position still exists, but at the same time, Cruyff needs to work on reinforcements for other positions: the sporting director also wants to add another left-back and a right-sided center-back, while it is not ruled out that a number of players will also be sold (Oscar Gloukh was not mentioned, after starting the season well).

In "Het Parool" they concluded:

"What makes the planned recruitment campaign even more interesting is that Cruyff has tied his future to it. The sporting director will not settle for anything less than a championship. He is not the type who wants to build for three years first, but wants to win immediately, as he said upon his appointment. To achieve this, he is aiming mainly for proven names".
