Shake-up in the media world: key figure leaves i24NEWS for competitors
The Israeli media landscape was recently expanded with the launch of Channel 16. The channel has already recruited some of the biggest names in the industry, and a new high-profile appointment has now been revealed, with a key staffer moving directly from a competing channel.

The Israeli media and industry world was renewed last month with the start of broadcasts of the new television channel, Channel 16. The channel, which began its launch period, started by broadcasting its first central news edition presented by veteran anchor Yaakov Eilon.
Channel 16 continues to expand and adds another star to Eilon. Today, Monday, the channel officially announced that Ziv Kroituro has been appointed as the news desk manager. Kroituro moved from i24NEWS, where he served in the recent period.
Kroituro joins a long line of talents and professionals in the media industry who have already announced their joining the new system. The political field on the channel will be led by journalist Shlomi Gil, who comes to the news company after serving as a reporter for the ultra-Orthodox newspaper "Mishpacha". Shai Levi, a journalist who comes to the new news desk after serving in recent years as the military reporter for the Mako website, has been appointed as the channel's military reporter.
On the international front, the one who will serve as Channel 16's correspondent in the United States is Yael Lavie, who has a rich background in working for foreign networks, and in the past she served as a reporter for the American news network ABC News as well as the British network Sky News. The Druze blogger Khalifa Khalifa also joins the team of reporters, who will serve as the news company's Arab affairs reporter and will cover what is happening in this sector.
The sports field on the new channel will be led by Saar Elimelech, who will serve as the system's sports reporter. Also, "Survivor" star and host of morning programs on 99.5FM radio, Daniel Tzioni, joined the channel and will cover culture and entertainment. The one who will manage the company's weather desk is the forecaster and veteran social media star Tzachi Peleg.
Hadas Dikstein, who styled the media personnel on Channel 14, has officially joined the new and intriguing channel. Yael Bar Zohar and Eilon Levy will also join the channel's new broadcast schedule, with Bar Zohar leading the channel's new morning strip and Levy presenting a daily news strip that will deal with the main events on the international arena and their implications for Israel and the world.
Another intriguing recruitment is that of journalist Dov Eichler, one of the well-known figures on public radio, who officially joins the channel and will serve as a reporter for ultra-Orthodox affairs. Channel 16 also announced the joining of Liran Levy as head of the crime desk and commentator on internal security affairs, and Dr. Itai Gal as the channel's health reporter.
Alexandra Lokash will also join Channel 16 as a news anchor and Rotem Golan will join as a magazine reporter and presenter. Joining them is journalist Natalie Matuko, who served as a reporter at the public broadcasting corporation Kan 11, and worked at Channel 13 as part of the program "HaTzinor".
