Suspect Arrested After Object Thrown at Naftali Bennett During Bnei Brak Tour

Police arrested a 30-year-old suspect in Bnei Brak on Thursday evening after an object, reportedly a glass bottle, was thrown toward former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett during his tour of the city. Bennett was uninjured in the incident.

Bennett was touring Bnei Brak, drawing a large crowd and considerable commotion. Footage from the scene shows a large gathering surrounding Bennett, with an object thrown from the crowd during the disturbance.

According to police, a bystander threw the object, which did not strike Bennett or his entourage. Officers from the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan police station secured the visit, swiftly subdued the suspect, and arrested him at the scene.

The suspect, unknown to police, was taken for further questioning to determine the motive. Officials clarified that local police forces made the arrest, contrary to initial erroneous reports involving the Shin Bet.

The "BeYachad" party stated: "Former PM and BeYachad leader Naftali Bennett visited Bnei Brak. He held a constructive discussion with yeshiva students. Political activists later arrived, and objects thrown toward Bennett struck a female staff member on the head."

She received treatment from Magen David Adom on-site and was released. Bennett later spoke with her, confirming she felt well. Bennett thanked security forces for their swift response and vowed to continue meetings across Israel.
