Bernardo Silva is starting to get used to life as a Real Madrid player. The Portuguese international, who parted ways with Manchester City after nine years and signed a two-year deal with José Mourinho's side, held his first training session and later spoke this evening, Monday, to the club's official TV channel about the decision.

"When Real Madrid approached me, it was impossible to say no," explained the midfielder, who will celebrate his 32nd birthday next week. "I didn't think twice. Being close to my family, very close to Portugal and in a culture that is very similar to ours, definitely helps. But to fulfill the dream of playing for the greatest club in the history of football, as its titles prove, is a great privilege and I am happy."

Meanwhile, striker Gonzalo García has left Real Madrid, signing a five-year contract with Fulham with an option for a sixth year. The Blancos received 40 million euros for him, with another two million in various bonuses and a 30 percent sell-on clause.
