Benjamin Netanyahu to recruits: "Our unity is broader than people think"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the induction center at the Tel HaShomer base today, Wednesday. During the tour, he met with dozens of new recruits designated for combat service in the Givati Brigade and the Artillery Corps. The meeting took place directly on the induction line, even before the young people put on their uniforms, and was followed by an open discussion.

At the end of the meeting, Netanyahu shared his feelings and emphasized the importance of cohesion in Israeli society:

"I just came from a conversation with recruits who are enlisting for combat service, and it was very moving."

Netanyahu noted the wide variety of young people who arrived to enlist: "They come from all parts of the country — religious and secular, north, south, city, village. An Israeli mosaic. I told them that the unity within us is much broader than people think. We are coming to defend our one country. We are repelling our enemies, and we know that our future is a future shared by all of us."

The Prime Minister also sought to convey a supportive message to the families who accompanied the young people: "Tell your fathers and mothers that we will have your back. We are sending you to guard the country, and we will also guard you. Go and succeed."
