Ben Gvir on the overturning of the closure of Galei Tzahal: "A coup against democracy"

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir attacked on Thursday the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the government's resolution to close Galei Tzahal. In a response published by the Otzma Yehudit media team, Ben Gvir called the decision "a coup against democracy."

"The Supreme Court is carrying out a coup against democracy and stripping an elected democratic government of its legal authorities," said Ben Gvir. The minister further stated: "If the judges in Givat Ram in Jerusalem want to decide instead of the government, they should be so kind as to form a party and run for election to the Knesset. The judges are acting with endless arrogance and are invalidating the decisions of the elected government without authority."

Ben Gvir added that the condition of Otzma Yehudit for joining the next government is "the passage of a full judicial reform: the establishment of a Constitutional Court and the immediate dismissal of the criminal Attorney General."
