Ben Gvir Defends Channel 14 Host Magal Over Controversial Eisenkot Remarks
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir defended Channel 14 host Yinon Magal over controversial remarks about Gadi Eisenkot, highlighting coalition divisions ahead of the elections.

The political storm surrounding a controversial remark made by Channel 14 television host Yinon Magal against "Yashar!" party leader Gadi Eisenkot continues to generate intense reactions across the Israeli political landscape.
Ben Gvir Defends Magal
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir addressed the controversy during an interview with 103FM radio, stepping forward to defend Magal while criticizing Eisenkot. "Eisenkot has been put in the front by various millionaires. To come and say Yinon Magal is a racist? There is no person who has brought more Mizrahim to broadcast than him," Ben Gvir stated, rejecting accusations of racism leveled against the Channel 14 host following his on-air comments.
The Controversial Broadcast
Over the weekend, Magal sparked widespread outrage during the broadcast of "The Patriots" program when referring to the candidacy of former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot. During the panel discussion, Magal used a derogatory term to describe Eisenkot, claiming that the former general serves merely as a front for powerful elites behind the scenes.
The remarks drew severe condemnation across the political spectrum and media outlets. Eisenkot responded by stating he had no intention of engaging with the insult, though he emphasized that the core issue extends beyond Magal to the forces orchestrating him. The "Yashar!" party strongly denounced the statement.
Coalition Divisions
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu distanced himself from the controversy during an interview with Radio Tzafon 104.5FM, condemning the remark and labeling it as "very inappropriate." Meanwhile, as the upcoming Knesset elections approach, Ben Gvir's continued public backing of Magal highlights the growing divisions within the ruling coalition.
