Ben Gvir: "Donald Trump is naive"
The Minister of National Security defined Iran as a "Nazi regime" at the National Security Conference of "Yedioth Ahronoth" and INSS, and claimed that the US President is naive in his desire to reach an agreement.
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir claimed this morning (Monday) at the National Security Conference of ynet and "Yedioth Ahronoth," in collaboration with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), that US President Donald Trump is naive. Against the backdrop of the pause in American strikes in Iran, Ben Gvir said:
"There is nothing to talk to them about with diplomacy, there is nothing to talk to them about in discussions and negotiations. With the Iranians, one must speak through the crosshairs. Trump is a businessman, and he is very naive regarding the Iranian issue."
Addressing claims that his actions cause public diplomacy damage, Ben Gvir said: "The one who caused the biggest damage is Naftali Bennett, who legitimized a party of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been outlawed in parts of the Arab world. I have criticism of Benjamin Netanyahu on this issue, he is not free of errors, but the one who ultimately sat with them in the same government and turned it into a legitimate partner was Naftali Bennett."
Almost three years after the October 7 massacre, Hamas has still not been defeated. Regarding this, Ben Gvir said:
"I have criticism on this issue as well; yesterday I was the only one in the cabinet who voted against bringing the Peace Council into Gaza. One must crush Hamas, but one must also say that Netanyahu has done good things. We control 63% of the territory of Gaza. I need to be very strong in the elections so that next time I can implement this policy concerning Hamas. We killed 40,000 Hamasniks, but it is not enough. One must crush them and encourage emigration."
Ben Gvir added: "In my imagination, I see in Gaza police neighborhoods, soldier neighborhoods, and officer neighborhoods. There is no vacuum; if we are not there, Hamas will be. The public diplomacy damage is that we carried out the disengagement and all sorts of delusional plans that told the world it is not ours. What did we get? A terror state, 'Hamastan,' and missiles on Ashkelon, Ashdod, and Netivot. In Oslo, we got 2,000 murdered."
