The police dispersed a demonstration this evening (Sunday) in Umm al-Fahm against the violence in the West Bank. Chairman of the Hadash list, Yousef Jabareen, stated: 'They will not intimidate us, and we will continue our just protest. We warn that Itamar Ben Gvir is seeking a deliberate confrontation with the Arab public ahead of the elections, and the thuggish conduct of the police today is proof of this.'
Jabareen added: 'It is not only our right, but also our duty to voice a protest against the crimes of the settlers in the West Bank. Our demonstration was legal and legitimate, but it encountered police who acted out of political motives and illegally dispersed the dozens of protesters.'
Only yesterday, the Tel Aviv police, according to Hadash, violently dispersed a demonstration against the occupation and settler terror, during which eight protesters were arrested, including Hadash activists.
