Bayern Munich struggled against Bodø/Glimt in the first half on Thursday evening, but everything changed after the break. Jamal Musiala broke the deadlock in the 47th minute, Harry Kane joined in the 61st, and then Alphonso Davies (77) and Michael Olise (83) added spectacular goals. The French superstar completed a brace in stoppage time to secure a 5:0 victory in the opening round of the Champions League.

Along the way, Bayern extended their staggering run: 39 matches without a defeat in the group/league stage of Europe's premier competition, boasting 37 wins and two draws.

Olise, named man of the match after his brilliant brace, was asked how he manages to score such beautiful goals and remained modest: "I don't know. I just shoot and it goes in. It was a good game for us, we wanted to win at home and I am happy."

Jamal Musiala added: "I am very happy to have scored, and happy to return to the starting lineup in the Champions League. I am getting back into my rhythm. The team supported me a lot, the coach and my teammates helped me immensely. I want to show good performance – and step by step, enjoy myself again and get back to my best."

"I am very pleased with the result," said Kane. "We had to be patient, but I thought even in the first half we were better, and their keeper made some good saves. We stayed calm and kept pushing. The early goal helped us. We showed last season that we get stronger as the game goes on. We wanted to perform well and get the three points in front of our fans. I am glad we did it."
