Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan is advancing three major development projects totaling approximately 640 million shekels, bringing its total campus investment to over one billion shekels. The initiatives include a new engineering faculty building, an advanced energy and nanotechnology research center, and a subterranean parking facility.

The largest of the new undertakings is the engineering faculty building, backed by an investment of about 295 million shekels. Designed by Granot Architects, the five-dunam site in the northern part of the campus will span 15,300 square meters. It will house 28 research laboratories, 12 teaching labs, 17 study spaces, 12 classrooms, and five lecture halls, alongside a technological startup incubator and faculty offices. The ground floor is designed to serve as an additional campus entrance connected to the planned local metro station.

Adjacent to the engineering building, a 95 million shekel underground parking structure is planned. Spanning 13,682 square meters, it will accommodate 479 vehicles, including 95 motorcycle spaces. Meanwhile, a 250 million shekel energy and nanotechnology research center is slated for the southern section of the campus. Designed by Moshi Eldar Architects, the 10,550-square-meter facility will feature 23 research labs, a cleanroom, and green building standards.

These projects build on recent campus expansions, including the Alexander Grass Computer Science Building and the 2022 completion of the 270 million shekel Park HaMe'ah student housing complex. Transport accessibility is also being enhanced through the Purple Line light rail project and the upcoming metro station, alongside the opening of the new Dahan Gate.

Bar-Ilan University CEO Zohar Yanon stated that the unprecedented investments aim to expand research and teaching capabilities, support rapid growth in high-tech sectors, and build advanced academic infrastructure for future generations. Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama Hacohen added that the university serves as a vital economic engine, reinforcing the city's status as a leader in academia, science, and innovation.
