Bar Brimer on Embracing Religion: "It Made Me a Better Partner"
Bar Brimer, partner of singer Agam Buhbut, shares his five-year journey of spiritual growth. He explains how integrating religious traditions has enriched his relationship and shifted his perspective on partnership.
Bar Brimer, the partner of singer Agam Buhbut, recently spoke about the process of spiritual strengthening he has been undergoing for the past five years:
"It came from a certain urge to lean on something. I really felt in my heart that this is the right thing."
As part of "Itay Segal's Podcast," Brimer shared how the process has deepened over the years: "If before I put on tefillin for 10 minutes, now I do the entire Shacharit prayer, and then I added Mincha and Arvit and lessons." Brimer said that at the beginning of the journey, he took on commandments gradually: "When I started keeping Shabbat, it was really gradual. I started reducing phone use and then over time I stopped completely, and then I stopped driving. I let myself fall in love with the idea, with our religion, with the good things it gives."
When asked how the spiritual change he underwent affects his relationship with the beloved singer, he replied unequivocally:
"It does nothing less than amazing for the relationship. Our religion has the most beautiful tools in the world for a healthy and correct relationship. What it means to be a partner, what it means to make your woman happy."
According to him, Buhbut also makes an effort on her side: "She keeps it light with me." In conclusion, he signed off with a personal and strengthening insight: "In today's era, you constantly want to receive, 'What does this person give me? Is it worth it for me? Is it worth it to me?'. But that is not the essence of a relationship – in a relationship, you are supposed to give. In this regard, it has made me a much better partner."
