Tal Harel Mattityahu Appointed Deputy Supervisor of Banks at Bank of Israel
Tal Harel Mattityahu has been appointed Deputy Supervisor of Banks and Head of the Banking Consumer Division at the Bank of Israel, bringing 24 years of experience.

Following a comprehensive tender process at the Bank of Israel, Tal Harel Mattityahu has been appointed as Deputy Supervisor of Banks and Head of the Banking Consumer Division. Harel Mattityahu began her career at the central bank approximately 24 years ago, accumulating extensive experience across various senior roles within bank supervision.
Extensive Experience in Banking Supervision
Her previous prominent positions include Deputy Supervisor and Head of Technology, Innovation, and Cyber Division, Head of the Supervisor's Bureau, Manager of Strategy and Special Projects, and Manager of Consumer Regulation. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded numerous consumer-focused initiatives benefiting banking system customers. Notable projects she led include the one-click bank switching system, the 'Har HaKesef' platform for locating dormant bank accounts, emergency assistance frameworks for customers during crises, comprehensive measures to combat fraud, and financial literacy programs for senior citizens.
Shaping Consumer Policy and Public Trust
The Banking Consumer Division operates at the core of the interface between the banking system and the public, addressing sensitive issues such as fairness, transparency, service, product accessibility, and consumer rights. In her new role, Harel Mattityahu will lead the division's activities and shape supervisory policy on these matters, embedding a culture of fairness and promoting a competitive, innovative environment that translates into tangible value for consumers.
Supervisor of Banks Daniel Hahiashvili welcomed the appointment, stating:
