Clara Tsabargal, head of the real estate division at Bank Hapoalim, is stepping down after 45 years at the institution. Tsabargal, 68, has held her current position since 2004 and is widely recognized as a prominent banking figure in Israel's real estate sector. She is expected to transition to private sector activities.
Throughout her career, Tsabargal managed credit portfolios for Bank Hapoalim's major real estate clients, working closely with the country's leading development firms. She played a pivotal role in advancing and financing large-scale construction projects across Israel.
Ayl Gilad, manager of the bank's Jerusalem business center, will succeed Tsabargal. Gilad brings extensive experience in overseeing real estate ventures nationwide.
Reflecting on her career in a 2024 interview, Tsabargal offered a pragmatic view on homeownership: "I would not recommend young people mortgage their lives for apartments. I believe it is better to invest in children's education than in concrete walls."
