Bahrain and Kuwait secretly sent fighter jets to strike targets inside Iran, which constituted their first direct retaliatory action against Tehran, according to a report today (Friday) in the Wall Street Journal.
According to officials familiar with the details, the airstrikes, carried out at the beginning of the month, targeted, among other things, warehouses for storing UAVs and missiles, as well as other military sites.
It is further claimed that the UAE, which struck Iran several times at the beginning of the war, provided intelligence on the targets and defensive air cover for the strikes — a sign of emerging Arab cooperation against Iran, according to the sources.
According to sources familiar with the matter, both Gulf states have relatively small air forces, equipped with American and European aircraft — but they were not prepared to allow Tehran to continue attacking them without a response.
