The Azrieli Group, led by CEO and owner Dana Azrieli, is establishing Israel's first-ever fashion museum in collaboration with curator and fashion historian Dr. Yaara Keydar. The total investment in the ambitious project is estimated at 8-10 million shekels.

The museum is scheduled to open in early 2027 at the Azrieli Sarona tower in Tel Aviv, following three years of careful development. Spanning three floors across a total area of approximately 1,150 square meters, the venue will blend culture, commerce, culinary arts, and content. Alongside exhibition spaces, the facility will feature an auditorium for lectures and events, a museum shop, and eventually a high-end chef restaurant. Organizers have set an ambitious target of attracting at least a quarter of a million visitors annually.

Aligning with Global Standards

While major fashion capitals like Paris, London, and New York boast renowned fashion museums, institutions are also thriving in Belgium, Spain, and Italy. Just this month, London's Tate Modern opened The 90s exhibition dedicated to the fashion of that decade, following the massive success of Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Israel, however, has lacked a permanent dedicated fashion venue until now, with past exhibitions primarily hosted at the Design Museum Holon. Dr. Keydar, who curated four of those exhibitions—including a celebrated showcase for the late designer Alber Elbaz—brings extensive international experience, having curated 12 major exhibitions globally over the past decade.

"For the first time in Israel, fashion is getting a permanent home, and everyone is invited to this home," said Dr. Yaara Keydar.

Merging Culture and Real Estate

Speaking about the new initiative, Dana Azrieli emphasized the evolving nature of commercial real estate. "As an entrepreneurial group, we constantly monitor how the needs and habits of the public change and think ahead about the spaces we create," she noted. "Today, the connection between commerce, culinary arts, culture, content, and leisure is part of the evolution of commercial real estate."

The choice of Azrieli Sarona places the museum in the bustling heart of Tel Aviv's business, entrepreneurial, and technological hub. By providing a permanent platform for Israeli and international designers, the Azrieli Group hopes to foster a thriving cultural landmark that will host original rotating exhibitions and initiate international collaborations.
