Avri Gilad Shares Spiritual Festival Experience and Clay Workshop
TV host Avri Gilad shared his experience at a spiritual festival in Kfar HaNokdim, where he participated in a clay-peeling workshop and enjoyed three days away from politics.
Avri Gilad spent his weekend escaping the daily routine to attend a festival at Kfar HaNokdim near Arad. Upon returning to the "Avri and Sharki" show on Saturday night, he shared a photo and a story about an unusual activity he tried.
"I was at a spiritual festival," Gilad said, explaining that it took place at Kfar HaNokdim. One of the activities he chose to join was what he defined as a "peeling workshop."
So what exactly happens there? Gilad explained to Sharki: "You smear yourself with clay that fits over you and then you peel it off, and it also has very deep inner meanings."
Sharki asked to understand those deep meanings, and Gilad began with the simple side of the experience. "First, it was pleasant, okay," he said. From there, he moved to the takeaway lesson: "Second, that we all need to peel off all the layers we drag with us everywhere, and be real."
According to him, the experience also served as a metaphor for the "mental mud" in which people are submerged. But beyond the clay and the deeper meanings, one of the most striking things for him was what was missing for three days.
"For three days I didn't hear any politics," he shared. Gilad described the festival's atmosphere simply: "Just normal Israelis spending time normally."
