Avri Gilad broadcasts from Thailand: "I'll be back soon to dip my head into the cesspool"
The television presenter did not skip his regular segment even during a tropical beach vacation. He surprised the studio hosts with a sharp comparison between Israeli public discourse and dangerous jellyfish, concluding with a humorous remark about his upcoming return.
Despite enjoying a vacation in Thailand, Avri Gilad did not give up his regular appearance on the program and broadcast his segment 'A Word from Avri' directly from the beach in Koh Phangan. Standing against a tropical backdrop, he presented a scene completely different from the one viewers are accustomed to in the studio.
'Hi Sharki, hi Jacky. I am at Zen Beach in Koh Phangan. They say it is the most beautiful place in the world to watch the sunset. It is the rainy season now and the sky is cloudy, but it is warm, as is customary in tropical countries,' Gilad said at the beginning of his remarks.
He then referred to one of the known dangers in the area:
'At these times, the box jellyfish resides here. There are warning signs all along the beach about this jellyfish, whose tentacles reach two meters.'
From there, Gilad moved on to a witty comparison, linking the jellyfish to the public discourse in Israel:
'But what are two meters compared to the tentacles of Israeli misery that reach Thailand through Telegram and all the news sites? The incessant fighting and all the harsh words that are present here in Thailand are so unnecessary.'
He concluded his remarks with a humorous note: 'You can say the same thing in Thai. I will be back soon and will dip my head back into the cesspool.'
Immediately after the segment, the broadcast returned to the studio. Yair Sharki, amused by Gilad's words and his beach appearance, turned to his co-host and asked: 'Do you think he will return with a stubble?' The comment added a lighthearted moment to the end of the unusual segment broadcast from the popular vacation island.
