Avichai Mandelblit Appointed Dean of Law at Ramat Gan Academic College

Professor Avichai Mandelblit, former Attorney General and one of the most prominent and influential figures in the Israeli legal system over the last decade, has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Ramat Gan Academic College. This was announced in a statement released this evening (Monday) by the academic institution.

According to the statement, the Faculty of Law was launched recently after receiving approval from the Council for Higher Education. Mandelblit, who until recently served as Dean of the School of Law at the Center for Law and Business, will be responsible for leading the faculty in the areas of teaching and research, developing new study programs, enriching existing tracks, and strengthening the connection between academia, the legal world, and public service.

Over the years, Mandelblit has held a series of senior positions in the public sector, including Chief Military Advocate General, Cabinet Secretary, and Attorney General between 2016 and 2022. During his tenure, he was at the center of one of the most turbulent periods in the history of the legal system, among other things following the decision to file an indictment against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the '1000, 2000, and 4000 cases' — a decision that sparked sharp public and political controversy.
