Avi Avino has parted ways with the players of M.S. Ashdod and returned to his position in the youth department. He will be replaced by Guy Weisinger, who holds a Pro license and will work alongside Nir Biton. Avino was part of the coaching staff during the team's training camp in Bulgaria, but upon returning to Israel, he informed the players that he would not continue with them, opting instead to focus on his professional management role in the youth department.
Guy Weisinger will serve as coach for the team's opening Toto Cup match against Maccabi Kiryat Gat this Thursday. Weisinger joined the Ashdod camp last week to work with the staff and is now finalizing his official contract with the club.
Meanwhile, the club is satisfied with the performance of Hayford during the camp, and he is expected to be one of M.S. Ashdod's three foreign players. Captain Tom Ben Zaken and Adir Levi, who suffered severe cruciate ligament injuries last season, require more recovery time and will not feature in the Toto Cup. Talented winger Elia Gethon also remains sidelined due to injury. Ashdod continues negotiations to sign an additional goalkeeper to support Razi Abu Hamdan.
