In their dress rehearsal ahead of the opening round against Elche, Barcelona beat Egypt's Al-Ahly Cairo 1:2 this evening (Wednesday) and won the traditional Gamper Trophy — moments after the festive presentation of the sparkling signing from Manchester City, Rodri. The Israeli wonderkid, Oriane Goren, came off the bench and played 28 minutes in the Catalans' celebration.
Unsurprisingly, the Spanish champions dominated throughout the first half and scored the first goal in the 29th minute after Alejandro Balde found the Egyptian Hamza Abd al-Karim, who scored against his former team and, according to the best traditions, did not celebrate.
