Ahead of the new school year, Microsoft reminds students and teachers in the Israeli education system that they are eligible for a free Microsoft 365 license. The suite includes Copilot AI and can be installed on up to five devices.
Just before the school year begins, Microsoft reminds you that you can obtain the Office suite (officially known as Microsoft 365) at no extra cost if you have children in the education system.
How to get Office for free?
As part of Microsoft's agreement with the state, the company offers a full license for Microsoft 365 for free to all students in the education system, from first to twelfth grade, as well as to teachers employed directly by the ministry. This eligibility remains valid throughout the students' years of study.
In recent years, beyond the standard versions of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, Microsoft has added a significant upgrade to the package: the integration of Copilot, its AI tool, at no extra cost. Thus, instead of paying a monthly subscription for access to Google Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT, students and teachers receive a built-in AI tool based on advanced OpenAI models. It can be used to summarize long texts, assist in planning projects throughout the school year, or help solve mathematical problems.
Microsoft's offer is not limited to one computer; if you are eligible to participate in the program, you can install the suite on up to five different devices. For example, you can start writing a paper on a school computer, continue from a laptop at home, and perform a final proofread via an iPad while traveling, with everything syncing in the cloud, eliminating the need to email files to yourself.
To redeem your eligibility, you need to visit the dedicated Ministry of Education page at reg-prod.eduil.net and perform the "Ministry of Education identification" using your username and password. The site provides clear installation instructions for your device.
