The Southern District Attorney's Office filed an indictment this morning at the Be'er Sheva District Court against 20-year-old Abdallah Gargawi from Segev Shalom, charging him with planning a terror attack in Be'er Sheva. The suspect allegedly intended to detonate a car bomb at the Forum club.

A joint investigation by the Israel Police and the Shin Bet revealed that Gargawi had been exposed to ISIS propaganda on social media for an extended period and identified with the organization's ideology. As part of his preparations, he worked on manufacturing an explosive device and communicated with individuals involved in terror activities via Telegram.

Planning and Arrest

Gargawi was arrested last month by the Yoav unit and Segev Shalom police officers before he could execute his plan. A search of his property uncovered a significant weapons cache:

  1. A MAG machine gun

  2. A Negev light machine gun

  3. A Kalashnikov rifle

  4. An M16-style weapon with accessories

  5. Magazines and ammunition

According to the investigation, between 2025 and 2026, the defendant not only possessed these weapons but also conducted live-fire training in open areas. He is now charged with serious security offenses and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
