According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, the kingdom's air defense systems intercepted several drones aimed at oil facilities in the east of the country and the capital, Riyadh.
"These terrorist attempts originated from Iraqi territory and were carried out by pro-Iranian militias," the statement noted. The Ministry added that Saudi Arabia reserves the right to defend itself and its assets, as well as the right to respond at an appropriate time and place.
