Assuta Medical Centers Opens New Facility in Acre

Assuta Medical Centers inaugurated a new, advanced medical facility in the city of Acre today, Wednesday, with the goal of expanding access to high-quality and efficient healthcare for residents of the Western Galilee and the North. The center allows patients to receive comprehensive diagnostic, testing, and specialist consultation services near their homes, while significantly shortening waiting times.

The new facility features an MRI institute, operated in cooperation with the Leumit Health Fund and open to all health fund members. Additionally, a gastroenterology institute has been established to perform diagnostics and treatments for digestive system diseases. The center also includes departments for mammography and breast ultrasound, general ultrasound, OCT testing, a sleep clinic, and various specialist clinics.

The center is equipped with innovative digital systems and advanced medical technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities are integrated into imaging services to assist medical teams in examination and interpretation, contributing to greater accuracy and an improved patient experience.

The Acre branch joins Assuta's nationwide network, which includes four hospitals (in Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Rishon LeZion, and Haifa), additional medical centers, and a home-based care system.

Professor Yehoshua (Shuki) Shemer, Chairman of Assuta Medical Centers, stated:

The opening of the center in Acre expresses the concept that one's place of residence should not determine the quality of care they receive. Noa Shemesh-Semal, Director of Assuta Haifa Hospital and the Acre center, noted that the project is the result of a collaborative effort maintained even during the war. Tsahi Stern, Director of the Northern District at Leumit Health Services, welcomed the decision to place the health fund's first MRI machine in Acre, noting that the partnership with Assuta has significantly reduced waiting times for Northern residents.

Acre Mayor Ohad Segev praised the initiative, stating that the new center is a significant development that strengthens the medical infrastructure in the North and improves the quality of life for the city's residents.
