Assaf Granit opens a shawarma spot: "De Pita"
The Michelin-starred chef and the Machneyuda group are launching a new shawarma spot - "De Pita". What will be on the menu, how will they roast the meat, and where is it going to open? | All the details

Chef Assaf Granit continues to expand his culinary empire, and now the first details about his new venture in Jerusalem are being revealed. Granit and the Machneyuda group will soon launch "De Pita," a new shawarma spot that will operate in the Machane Yehuda market area and offer a unique version of Jerusalem-style shawarma.
The new restaurant will open at 3 HaDekel Street, near Granit's steakhouse, and will focus on a staple of Israeli street food. The venue will feature two shawarma spits, for veal and chicken thigh, which will be roasted on a traditional spit alongside glowing coals to infuse the meat with authentic grill flavors and a charred aroma.
At "De Pita," the team plans to offer shawarma with the signature interpretation associated with the Machneyuda group. Customers can expect more than just a standard portion, with combinations and flavors that characterize Granit's unique style.
The opening comes just after Granit announced the expansion of his operations outside of Israel. It was recently revealed that the chef is working on a new ice cream parlor in Paris called "Licouk," with preparations already in full swing.
Granit, who has earned a total of six Michelin stars over the years and operates successful restaurants in Paris and other European cities, continues to establish his status as one of the world's most prominent Israeli chefs, venturing into new fields beyond fine dining.
