Arkia Israeli Airlines has announced a new partnership with the Israeli eSIM provider Global Voye to offer discounted international roaming packages to its passengers. Under the agreement, Arkia customers will receive discounts ranging from 20% to 36% on global, regional, and United States-specific data packages without needing a physical SIM card.

As part of the promotion, passengers will also receive a complimentary 100 megabytes of data upon purchase, allowing travelers to install and test the eSIM before departing the country. For example, a 30-day 1GB data package will be available for 20 NIS instead of the standard 29 NIS. The offer will become available to customers upon completing their flight booking, appearing in the reservation summary and during the check-in process.

Founded in 1949 as Ailtah, Arkia is Israel's second-largest airline. The company is currently owned by the Nakash brothers' Jordache Enterprises, which holds a 75% stake, with employees owning the remaining 25%. The airline operates domestic flights alongside scheduled and charter international flights to destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean region, and beyond.

In addition to the connectivity partnership, Arkia has updated its baggage policy amid rising costs across the aviation sector. Effective November 15, the airline adjusted fees and weight allowances for checked baggage. The fee for a pre-purchased first checked suitcase increased from $50 to $60 per direction, while the weight limit was raised by 3 kilograms to a maximum of 23 kilograms.

Passengers who wait to purchase their first checked bag at the airport will face significantly higher fees, with the cost rising to $100 compared to $60 in advance. For a second suitcase of up to 23 kilograms, passengers will pay $80 when booked early and $110 at the airport. A third checked bag will cost $100 in advance and $120 at the terminal.
