The Arava Rescue Unit has issued a strict safety warning to hikers and travelers planning to visit the Arava region on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 27–28, due to anticipated flash floods.

Authorities emphasized that flash floods are highly unpredictable and can rapidly escalate into life-threatening situations. Officials strongly urged the public to avoid entering any flowing stream channels on foot, in vehicles, or by any other means. "The force of the water is immense, and it is impossible to predict what lies beneath the surface or what the next wave will bring," the unit stated in an official advisory.

For those wishing to observe the natural phenomenon, rescuers recommend doing so exclusively from elevated, dry, and secure vantage points, far away from riverbanks and active drainage channels. Motorists were also explicitly warned against parking vehicles within stream beds or along their immediate edges.

In the event that individuals are caught in a flash flood, the primary instruction is to reach a high and safe location as swiftly as possible and immediately contact the Israel Police emergency hotline at 100 for assistance.

"A flash flood is no place for heroics or guesswork," the Arava Rescue Unit stressed. "The single most important rule is not to enter the water. If you wish to watch, do so only from a safe and dry distance."
