After Channel 14 claimed he is "helping the Nazis" - Lapid threatened: "I will sue you"
Opposition leader Yair Lapid threatened to sue Channel 14 after Itamar Fleischman, a panelist on "The Patriots," accused him of "helping the Nazis." The dispute followed Lapid's interview with CNN.
After Itamar Fleischman, a panelist on the program "The Patriots" on Channel 14, claimed that opposition leader Yair Lapid is "helping the Nazis," the latter responded on his X social media account: "The Nazis murdered my grandfather and half of my family, my father was in a ghetto, you bunch of toxic lunatics. I am going to sue you for everything you have."
The remarks were made following an interview Lapid gave to CNN, where he was asked how he would act against Jewish terrorism in the West Bank. The opposition leader replied that he would "send 300 police officers and two battalions of Border Police fighters," and called the Jewish rioters "terrorists."
Fleischman explained why he defines antisemitic influencers in the US as Nazis: "They spread libels against Jews at levels you wouldn't believe and they are Nazis in my eyes. They spread antisemitic libels against Jews and cause a great many people to want to kill Jews. Yair Lapid strengthens these people and therefore I will say it - because he is helping the Nazis."
Fleischman based his remarks on the experience of his daughter and her friends in Rhodes: "They were afraid to film because it was so bad. They have pictures of Israeli soldiers with their faces and names where it is written - this is the phone number, if you see this Israeli soldier call us."
