Following missile launches: UAE halts trade with Iran — Tehran denies involvement
The UAE has announced the suspension of all trade and financial transactions with Iran following the launch of two ballistic missiles toward its territory. Tehran has dismissed the accusations as "baseless."
The United Arab Emirates announced this evening, Tuesday, that all trade, commercial exchange, and financial transactions with Iran have been halted until further notice, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The decision was made following the launch of two ballistic missiles from Iran toward the UAE.
Conversely, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the UAE's claims of Iranian involvement in the launches. The ministry's spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated that the accusations made by the Emirates are "baseless."
The missile launch event comes against the backdrop of identified shifts in Iran's offensive policy in both Israel and the USA, following unsuccessful diplomatic contacts and the subsequent tightening of naval and economic blockades by the USA.
Yesterday, for the first time in nearly two months, missiles were fired toward the UAE, and according to the country's announcement, two of its tankers were also attacked. In Israel, it is estimated that attacks on other Gulf states could resume.
