After heavy fighting in Gaza and Lebanon - a new generation of soldiers arrives at the Nahal Brigade
Hundreds of new recruits are joining the Nahal Brigade today, whose soldiers have operated on the Gaza and Lebanon fronts since October 7 and suffered heavy losses. The brigade commander welcomed the new arrivals: "You are arriving during a historic period."
Today, Sunday, the August recruitment for the Nahal Brigade begins. Welcoming hundreds of new recruits, the commander of the Nahal Brigade, Colonel A., addressed them: "You are arriving at the Nahal Brigade during a historic period. In recent years, the brigade has been at the forefront of the War of Revival and continues to fulfill its mission as a combat unit, a pioneer at the front."
Colonel A. continued: "Behind us stand soldiers and commanders who fell in battle, and their story is the story of our people. A long and challenging path awaits you, alongside some of the best commanders and soldiers, who are committed to building the next generation of fighters. Everyone has high-quality weaponry, but only we have the human advantage. I wish you great success, and I look forward to seeing you join the ranks of the Nahal Brigade, because we are always first."
Nahal soldiers earned great appreciation during the Iron Swords War after taking part in fighting in Gaza and Lebanon. On October 7, in the first hours of the conflict, the brigade commander, Colonel Yonatan Steinberg, was killed. He fell in battle during an encounter with terrorists near the Magen junction and Kerem Shalom. The brigade's soldiers, who suffered many casualties during the defensive battles, led some of the most difficult maneuvers in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
