Following Channel 14 investigation: Chief of Staff Zamir raises alert level in Judea and Samaria

Days after the broadcast of the Channel 14 investigation "7.10: The Judea and Samaria Version," which highlighted the fear of a scenario involving a broad and coordinated attack from Judea and Samaria, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir ordered this morning (Thursday) an increase in the alert level and a reinforcement of forces in the sector.

During a multi-front situation assessment held this morning, Zamir explicitly addressed the tensions in Judea and Samaria and the approaching holiday period, ordering an additional regular division headquarters to be placed on alert. Alongside this, he ordered preparations for the immediate deployment of additional units and battalions to reinforce the area.

"In light of the tensions in Judea and Samaria and the approaching holiday period, I am ordering an increase in the alert level of an additional regular division headquarters to reinforce the forces in the sector. Beyond that, preparations must be made for the immediate activation of units and battalions to reinforce the area," the Chief of Staff said.

"No stand-downs and no reduction of forces"

Zamir emphasized that the preparations are not limited to Judea and Samaria and that the IDF is preparing for the possibility of developments on several fronts simultaneously: "We have many challenges ahead of us. We are advancing battle procedures on all fronts, from Iran and Lebanon to Gaza, and are in a state of high alert in the face of multi-front volatility."

Furthermore, the Chief of Staff conveyed a sharp message regarding the level of readiness required during the holiday period: "The IDF, with all its systems, will be on full, multi-front alert during the holiday period — there will be no stand-downs and no reduction of operational forces."
