Following the rejection of the Shas candidate: the board of directors of the Israel Association of Community Centers (Matnasim) has chosen a new CEO

The board of directors of the Israel Association of Community Centers (Matnasim) decided on Wednesday to appoint Adv. Galit Viderman as the company's CEO. Her appointment will now be submitted for approval to the Dotan Committee for the review of senior appointments in government companies.

Currently, Viderman serves as a senior deputy to the director of the Government Companies Authority. Her primary responsibilities include leading the field of labor relations in government companies, corporate governance, promoting representative diversity for populations such as women, minorities, and representatives from the periphery, and overseeing courses for directors.

Several months ago, she was selected as the second-most qualified candidate for the CEO position by a search committee. The person originally chosen for the role was Moshe Mor Yosef, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Interior, but the Dotan Committee rejected his appointment due to a lack of experience. As revealed in Calcalist, Shas pushed for the appointment of Mor Yosef even though the State Comptroller determined that he had "embellished" details in his resume when he applied for the position of CEO of the Negev Development Authority.

The search committee, headed by Chairman Ariel Mishael, reviewed over 50 applications. After screening for threshold conditions, eight candidates remained, with the final stage including Mor Yosef and three senior public sector officials, including Viderman.

The Association of Community Centers is a government company that acts as the executive arm of the Ministry of Education in the fields of society, community, and informal education. It manages a national network of 170 community centers. The volume of the company's activity in 2025 reached 5 billion shekels, and the CEO's salary is approximately 45,000 shekels gross per month.

The appointment is to be signed by Minister of Education Yoav Kisch and Minister Dudi Amsalem, who is in charge of the Government Companies Authority.
