After police questioning over alleged threats to his ex-partner: Shimon Buskila responds
The singer addressed the public in a video following media reports, stating: "I was in a relationship, I have never hurt anyone. I prefer to keep things private, see you at the shows."
After being questioned by police on suspicion of threatening his ex-partner, singer Shimon Buskila addressed the incident in a video statement:
"In the last few hours, several reports have appeared in the press regarding the questioning I underwent at the police station last Friday. It is important for me to share with you that I was recently part of a very complex relationship, full of ups and downs, like everyone else. Out of concern for my ex-partner, I prefer to keep these matters private between us. However, I will state the truth: I have never hurt any person—friend, partner, neighbor, or acquaintance. This is not me, and it is not my way of life. Violence has never been my path, and it will remain that way until my last day."
Buskila added: "After the police studied the materials and conducted a very quick questioning of about an hour, I returned home. Not only was I not arrested, but I was also not placed under house arrest; yesterday I went out and had a meal as usual."
Concluding his message, Buskila addressed his audience: "Those who have accompanied me for three decades know me best. You know that I will never disappoint you; my work is solely about my music and my soul. See you on the upcoming stages, and as I say in my song: you are my tomorrow, you are my world. I love you and will see you at the shows this week and next."
Buskila was questioned last Friday at the Tel Aviv North station on suspicion of threatening and harassing his ex-partner following their breakup. According to police, he was released under restrictive conditions following the session.
"He is driving me crazy. I feel threatened. He does not stop sending me messages," his ex-partner claimed in her testimony. During the investigation, a confrontation was held between the two, where the complainant reiterated her claims: "I do not want to be in contact with you. Stop sending me messages; you are harassing me."
Both during the questioning and the confrontation, Buskila denied the allegations: "You sent me messages, and I responded. I did not threaten you; you are the one threatening me. Stop badmouthing me everywhere," he told her.
