After criticizing Eden Pines, Liat Blu apologizes and explains: "I was in immediate danger to my life"
Yesterday, Liat Blu spoke out against a photo of Eden Pines in which she displayed a slim figure. Now, after receiving backlash for criticizing another woman's body, she clarifies: "I truly apologize, that was never the goal," and shares her personal story.
Yesterday (Sunday), Eden Pines uploaded a photo to her Instagram account from her vacation in Paris, in which she displayed a flat stomach and a slim figure. The photo sparked the anger of Liat Blu, who has dealt with eating disorders herself, and called to stop promoting extreme thinness. Now, Blu chooses to apologize to Pines.
Alongside a photo of herself in a swimsuit, she wrote:
"Look at me in this photo, do I look like a 'bomb' to you? 'Toned'? 'Perfectly thin'? This is me. 36 kilos. A few days after this photo was taken, I collapsed and arrived at the emergency room, from where I was hospitalized in the eating disorders ward at Tel HaShomer. My life was in immediate danger and the staff was by my side 24 hours a day until they stabilized me."
"Since yesterday, I have received dozens of messages from girls and boys who are afraid to admit that they might be in this place, from mothers who thanked me for the courage to open the discourse without fear. If anyone was personally offended by my words, I truly apologize, that was never the goal. But if thanks to this discourse one person asks for help, one parent identifies distress, or even one soul is saved — for me it was worth everything," she concluded.
