Apple has officially sent out invitations for a special hardware event scheduled for October 13, titled "Welcome Home." Following the recent launch of the iPhone lineup, the tech giant is shifting its focus to the smart home ecosystem with a completely new product category.

The All-New Home Hub

The central attraction of the upcoming event is expected to be a brand-new device tentatively dubbed the "Home Hub." Acting as a hybrid between a HomePod and an iPad, this 6-inch smart display serves as a command center for the smart home. It integrates FaceTime capabilities, video streaming, and deep integration with the new Siri AI.

Apple aims to capture the smart home market with a device that features AI-based facial recognition to display personalized information instantly upon detecting a user.

Additional Ecosystem Upgrades

Beyond the Home Hub, Apple is slated to introduce a refreshed HomePod Mini featuring new colors and an upgraded processor to support advanced Siri AI functionalities. Furthermore, the Apple TV streaming box is set for a major hardware revision, incorporating an A19 processor, increased RAM, and upgraded remote controls.

The event will take place as an "Apple Experience" in New York on October 13 at 16:00 Israel time. Industry observers await further details on whether Apple will stream a keynote video or release the announcements via a traditional pressroom update.
