Joyful news in the royal family: after months of anticipation, Princess Eugenie has expanded her family and gave birth to a daughter earlier this week at a hospital in Portugal. The baby is the first daughter of the princess, who already has two sons with her husband Jack Brooksbank: five-year-old August Philip Hawke and three-year-old Ernest George Ronnie. In a statement on behalf of Buckingham Palace, it was stated:

In a post published on Instagram, the princess shared the happy news with excitement: "Jack and I are so excited to announce the baby Brooksbank! We are in love with her beyond measure." The new baby, who will not receive the title "Her Royal Highness", will be 15th in the line of succession to the British throne, overtaking her uncle, Prince Edward.

The baby will be the fifth grandchild of the princess's father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, whose royal titles, status, and decorations were stripped by King Charles last year. This followed the revelation of further details regarding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex offenses against minors. Although their father lost his titles, both of his daughters kept theirs, but neither of them is a working member of the Royal Family.
